House hold bleach will fade and stain bath mats / towels leading to the fabric breaking up, so care needs to be taken that bleach is not splashed in the bathroom, kitchen or toilet. Also many cosmetic and skin treatments contain bleach for example hair dye and acne cream contain peroxide which will have the same effect on fabrics. Rinse the skin or hair before drying with the towel to ensure all the peroxide is washed away.
