Service Team Manager

South of England - M4 Corridor

We have two vacancies and ideally candidates will be based along or within reasonable proximity of the M4 motorway corridor between Newport and Slough.

A competitive basic salary package + bonus, car, laptop, phone and 33 days paid holiday is available.

This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to coach and motivate a team of field based white goods Service Engineers. Our Service Engineers enjoy the flexibility of working from home while organising their spare part stock and workload to ensure the efficient repair of Hoover Candy products in our customer’s home.

Our product range includes: washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, refrigeration products and vacuum cleaners. We are looking for an experienced people Manager with a positive and flexible attitude who has the skills and experience to lead and motivate a team of Service Engineers generating high levels of performance.

An understanding of field based management, delivering key performance targets, including delivery of business priorities and operating standards and how they impact on performance will be essential.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates from within the white or brown goods industry.

Marketing Assistant

Merthyr Tydfil

The Hoover Candy Group is introducing its biggest and best ever range of floorcare products and to support our progress we have a permanent vacancy for a Marketing Assistant for our Small Domestic Appliance Division in Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 4TU.

We are looking for a candidate who is a keen learner and driven to succeed. This Marketing Assistant role offers an ideal base to learn all functions in marketing. The Marketing Assistant will offer support to the product management and marketing communications teams as well as being a key support to our trade customers and account managers.

Personal Profile

  • A marketing graduate with a minimum of 6 months experience in a marketing role. Alternatively you must have either some marketing qualifications or have studied marketing modules as part of another course.
  • Well developed communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work as part of an effective team.
  • Flexible attitude and approach to working.
  • High attention to detail and excellent literacy.

Main role responsibilities

  • First point of contact for account managers and trade accounts.
  • Organise the requirements of our trade customers to get the right detail upfront to ensure that we hit imposed deadlines.
  • Create presentations for internal & external communications.
  • Organise company events.
  • Update product info/ collect sales data through website CRM.
  • Update posts on companies social media platforms.
  • Draft press releases, creative briefs and copywriting.
  • Assist team members with daily marketing tasks and coordinate marketing projects and activities.
  • Support the in-house marketing and design team by coordinating and collating content for various collaterals.
  • Assist with production of artwork, source images and check copy.
  • Track competitor activity by being up to date with market changes and marketing mix used by competitors.

Personal Specification

  • Excellent command of written English with copy accuracy.
  • Confident and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Well organised and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Sound understanding of marketing principles.
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, (Adobe InDesign and Adobe PhotoShop would be an advantage.)
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.

In addition to a competitive basic salary of circa £17,000 you will also be entitled to a package including 25 days annual holiday and receive the benefit of a quarterly Company bonus with an annual potential equal to 3% of each employee’s basic salary.

Product Marketing Manager

Merthyr Tydfil - Small Domestic Appliance Division

The Hoover Candy Group is introducing its biggest and best ever range of vacuum cleaners and to support our progress we have a permanent vacancy for a Product Marketing Manager for our Small Domestic Appliance Division.

Develops and drives the success of a creative, innovative and profitable category. Delivers agreed sales and profit targets in specified categories. Also develops relevant and actionable category insights and uses these insights in the delivery of commercial objectives and enhance the brands under your remit.

Personal Profile

  • A marketing graduate with 3+ years experience in a category/product marketing role.
  • Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing or Master Degree preferable.
  • Experience of analysing, evaluating and developing new market sectors.
  • 3+ years experience of Greenfield product management and sales responsibility.
  • Well developed communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work as part of an effective team (Work with central marketing team in Italy essential).
  • Commercial understanding and excellent analytical skills.
  • Significant experience of successfully managing the launch of product, pricing and promotional activity. Must be able to manage tight budgets innovatively.
  • The ability to read market opportunities and be proactive to create new profitable opportunities via products is key. Ongoing up-to date Competitor analysis activity and knowledge of current and future forecasted next steps planning. Experience of using marketing data (similar to GFK) to support plans and decision making.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop yearly/quarterly plans to grow sales and profitability of the category to deliver the product portfolio objectives in respect of volume, value, profitability, brand share and price index.
  • Plan and advise on category activity and strategy direction.
  • Devise and drive category range plans and provide recommendations to maximise gross margin through product mix, price, channel management and lifecycle management.
  • Undertake research and analyse market/category/product data (competitor analysis, benchmarking, market research, price and market gap analysis) to gain category buyer and customer insights.
  • Translate insights and analysis into opportunities. Develop strategies and plans and work with sales teams to drive category/product and brand growth.
  • Understand the market place and respond to opportunities and threats as they arise.
  • Monitor trends in competitive companies and react where appropriate.
  • Seek new commercial initiatives with potential to increase sales and profitability.
  • Evaluate individual products – so that they drive the profitability of the category and overall offering.
  • In conjunction with sales and marketing team establish a rolling six month pricing, promotion and activity plan (National and Customer specific) to ensure that the product category achieves its stated goals.
  • Appreciation of the importance of legal and regulatory frameworks.

Performance

  • Track product category key performance indicators (KPI) such as market share and define and communicate appropriate corrective plans and implementation programme.
  • Work closely with sales function to achieve coverage and success in all relevant distribution channels.
  • Successful manage and achieve sales targets set for product category.
  • Oversee the management of customer requests for product information/samples.
  • Develop customer presentations for new products.
