Field Service Engineers - South

Hoover Candy has immediate Service Engineer vacancies in Chichester.

The basic salary package starts at £20,414.65 £29,500 OTE for Engineers outside of the London area. If you live within 25 miles (as the bird flies) of Charing Cross in London the basic salary package starts at £27,900 (including London weighting) £30,500 OTE, 33 days paid holiday.

Our Service Engineers enjoy the flexibility of working from home while organising their spare part stock and workload to ensure the efficient repair of Hoover Candy products in our customer’s home.

Our product range includes: washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, refrigeration products and vacuum cleaners.

We welcome applications from experienced white goods or brown goods Engineers or alternatively we are interested in hearing from candidates who have experience in logical electro-mechanical fault finding in either an industrial environment or as a Field Engineer. An understanding of basic electrical principals and a grounding in mechanical principals is essential.

National Account Manager - SDA

The Hoover Candy Group is looking to further develop is successful ranges of Vacuum Cleaners and SDA products, to support continues growth that we are targeting within specific market sectors. We therefore have a permanent vacancy for a National Account Manager for our Small Domestic Appliance Division.

The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Director, and will be primarily selling into the DIY retailers and National Discounters while also working on new Business Development opportunities at head office level with Senior Buyers. This role will initially be focused on account management to maximise on existing relationships as well as new business development in exploring additionally winning new accounts that are suited to our product portfolio. The Hoover Candy Group, known worldwide as a maker of quality domestic appliances is looking to appoint a new Head for Built-in Appliances with full responsibility for all Built-in commercial opportunities in the UK and Ireland.

The business sells Baumatic, Hoover and Candy branded Built-in products in the UK and Irish markets. Hoover acquired Baumatic in November 2013 and Baumatic operates from a Reading base. Hoover Candy Built-in sales are based at our Bromborough location on the Wirral near Chester.

The Company has decided to appoint a new Head of Built-in Sales & Marketing to provide strategic leadership to the overall UK Built-in operation looking after all UK brands. This role will report into the Chief Executive Officer.

You will ideally possess a proven track record of sales and management on a National basis in the white goods, small domestic appliance or consumer electronic marketplace. You will have experience of people management as you will be managing a team of roughly 25 people. You will have experience of building relationships with senior commercial and technical decision makers and ideally possess strong personal contacts with key players. North West Based Technical Training Manager

The Hoover Candy Group is looking to appoint a new Technical Training Manager based in North West England who will report to the Technical Operations Manager and is responsible for the effective provision of technical training and for all Field Service Engineers and Service Agents. This role is intended to improve engineer retention and identify ways of improving both individual and team morale.

Key Accountabilities – Training:

  • Responsible for overall skills of the Engineer workforce, identify where there are skills gaps and facilitate appropriate training.
  • Develop training modules which can be delivered in small bursts to individual or small groups of Engineers on a variety of technical subjects covering all aspects of the engineers technical role.
  • Mentor new Engineers with less than six months service, to include accompaniment. Creation of action plans for areas which need support to include well-being audits for the engineer and appraise the levels of support from service team management.
  • Working with both the Engineer and the respective STM, create action plans with improvement objectives that are achievable, time bound and create a positive process of support for the engineer to improve moral.
  • Identify Engineers who are requiring an update on product techniques, health and safety, technical procedures, including electrical safety. Typically after a minimum of 5 years’ service or have been identified due to non-compliance.
  • Carry out training road shows for our Approved Service Agent network.
  • Hold Engineer meetings at various locations nationally to cover a variety of subjects to help improve technical effectiveness and cover new product ranges. This will also include covering business objectives and quality improvement projects.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for appraising the Management team of the results of the mentoring scheme and deliver regular schedules of activity which are linked into the objectives of their role and the objectives of the business as a whole.
  • From time to time there will be a requirement to attend and assist on the Engineer Induction School at the National Training Centre.

Key Skills:

  • Analyse all order requirements via Gecom / EDI.
  • Manage stock allocation.
  • Confirm bookings and organise deliveries whilst adhering to strict customer contractual deadlines.
  • Manage daily booking slots to maximise Warehouse efficiency and reduce logistic costs.
