Some foods contain acids which can stain your cutlery, in particular fruit, mayonnaise and sea food. Rinse the cutlery first to remove harmful acids before being washed in your dishwasher.
Always disconnect your appliance from the mains before you start examining it!
Some staining and marks found on your cutlery after dishwashing may be because of condensation build up during the drying part of your machine's cycle. Try and take the cutlery out as soon as you notice the cycle is over.
