Clean the filters (8)

Your cleaner uses filters to trap dirt particles and will require regular cleaning. If you find the suction power seems to have dropped and it is not picking up very well then it may be time to clean these filters. The exhaust filter is found at the rear of the product, unclip the cover and lift out the blue filter for cleaning. Remove the dust box and twist off the lid, inside the dust box you will find the blue hepa filter and grey mesh screen. Use a soft brush to dust away the dirt or for best results wash all the filters in warm water. Please make sure they are thoroughly dry before you pop it all back together.

Hoover recommend that you replace the filters once per year and you can purchase new filters from the spares section of this website.
