Check the iron is not too hot
The iron has a thermostat that allows the temperature to be adjusted to suit different fabric types. Some garments may be damaged if the setting is too high - for example delicate fabrics will be 'cool iron ' only. Check with the label on the garment and turn the thermostat to select the appropriate temperature setting.
Always disconnect your appliance from the mains before you start examining it!
