Remove and clean the grease filters

To ensure that your hood works effectively and keeps the cooking area smelling fresh then remove the grease filter and wash in hot water. This is situated in the visor and will either be made from a metal mesh or fabric sheet. The metal mesh will last for ever however the fibre type filters will require regular replacement. Should you require replacement filters you can purchase them via the spares section of this website.

Check the venting duct is not blocked

To test the suction power and efficiency of the hood hold a piece of paper up to the hood and switch it on. If the paper sticks to the hood then this would suggest there are no venting problems with the hood. If it fails to hold the paper then check outside the property to ensure that the outside vent is not blocked.

Hood has been installed for air recirculation

For best results the hood should extract the cooking odours to the outside of the property. However, your Hoover hood can be used to recirculate if out side venting is not possible for some reason Check that the installer has not set it up to recirculate the air back into the cooking area. If this is the case then the optional charcoal filters will need to be fitted to get rid of the cooking odours. Should you require  filters you can purchase them via the spares section of this website
