Clean the brushes and fit a new belt
Underneath the cleaner is a brush bar that is driven by a rubber belt. It spins around sweeping and beating the dirt out of the carpet and up into the cleaner. The belt will stretch and wear out so it should be replaced once per year or sooner as a precaution if you feel the cleaner is not sweeping up effectively. In addition you will need to maintain the brush roll by cleaning off any hair, threads or debris that may have got tangled around it. Eventually the bristles of the brush will wear down depending on how much you use your cleaner but fitting a new brush and belt will make your cleaner give your carpet that 'groomed' look, as well as keeping it nice and clean. Replacement belts and brushes can be purchased from the spares section of our website.

To get to the belt and brushes start by remove the top cover, remove the hose, height adjuster and the 2 screws found next to the rear wheels on top of the cover. Undo the screws with a standard Phillips screwdriver.
remove the height adjuster and hose (above) and the 2 screws (below) on some models the hood is secured slightly differently. Instead of the 2 screws on top of the hood there are 4 shown by the blue arrows found underneath the product. Simply remove these screws with a standard Phillips screwdriver
remove the belt and the brush roll (above) fit the new belt over the motor spindle (below)
Loop the belt over the brush roll fit the brush back into the base and then pull the belt over the motor drive spindle. It may appear rusty but that's ok! Once its all fitted turn the brush roll a few times by hand to make sure that the new belt is not jammed. Pop the hood back on, re fit the 2 screws, hose and height adjuster and you are good to go!
