The load may have become unbalanced

Hoover washing machines are fitted with a special sensor that balances the load before it spins. This is to help protect the machine components and also to stop the machine vibrating and moving when spinning. If there is only a few things in the drum it may take longer to untangle and balance the load around the drum. This will increase the time the cycle will take.If there is only one item inside the machine, lots of time will be spent trying to balance the load and it may be unable to do so. Its far more economical to was a bigger load and the machine is not designed to spin just one item of clothing, if the cycle is taking longer than expected when it is spinning then use fuller loads.
