Check for a blockage in the hose

To check the hose for a blockage simply remove it from the cleaner, hold it upright and drop a coin down through the hose from the top. If the hose is blocked the coin will not drop out of the hose.

If the coin appears at the other end then its unlikely the hose is blocked.

If the coin remains inside the hose then there is something stuck inside the hose. This will reduce the suction power and the cleaner will not pick up. Push a broom handle down the hose to carefully push out the obstruction or blockage.
