Tap switched on

The next image shows the tap is shut and no water will flow to the machine:

Tap off

If you find that your tap is in this position twist the tap until it is in line with your pipe. Now your machine will fill with water!

It is also worth making sure that the blue tap is not broken. If the valve inside the pipe has seized then turning the blue tap with force may cause it to break, and not actually be opening the valve in the pipe when you are turning it. You may need to call a plumber to repair the tap if it is seized or broken. If you are unsure that water is coming out of the hose a good way to check is by turning the tap off, disconnect the hose and place in a bucket and then turn the water back on. Water should flow into your bucket. If it does not the again a plumber will need to be called out.

Always disconnect your appliance from the mains before you start examining it!

Check the water fill pipe is not trapped or twisted

If your product is not taking water in then the reason may be that when the product was pushed into its housing or location the fill pipe has became trapped and then crushed or kinked. This flattens out the hose and water will not flow through. Pull the machine back out and look closely to see if the cold water pipe is kinked or crushed.

Hoover recommend that you fit the brand new hose supplied with the machine in the accessories pack that you found inside the drum on delivery.

Carefully push the machine back in ensuring the hose is routed in such a way that it will not get flattened or kinked by crushing in the gap at the back.

In the area highlighted there is a small filter which can become blocked, if there is any debris wipe the filter to clear it. This will allow the water to flow more freely into the washer.
